Chocolate Spiced Banana Bread


It's my habit tweak most recipes I try to suit my taste needs at the time.  This is recipe I adapted from a Bill Granger classic a while ago now. It is the best smelling thing you will ever bake I promise!  
Ingredients
2 cups plain flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1 cup caster sugar
3 bananas roughly mashed (don't need to be over ripe)
125g unsalted butter or margarine, melted and some what cooled
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup chocolate chips (choose your favourite white, milk or dark or all 3!) 
vanilla sugar to dust prior to baking
Method
Preheat oven to 180 c (165 fan forced)
Grease 24 x 13 x 7 cm loaf pan
Sift flour, baking powder and spices into a bowl add the caster sugar and stir gently
In a different bowl add the remaining ingredients expect the vanilla sugar, combine.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry and stir until just combined
Pour into the loaf pan and sprinkle generously with vanilla sugar.
Check at 60 mins but I always bake mine for 75mins.
Serve warm and slice it thick.  Be sure to give some to your neighbour.
