raspberry porridge

It's getting cool around here so some mornings porridge is on the menu.  I think porridge is one of those dishes that divides the good people of the world.  It's either a love or a hate sort of thing.  I can assure you though that I believe porridge is all about what you top it with!  A favourite in my kitchen has been banana, some cinnamon sugar with a little dash of cream but it's good to mix things up a little. So here is my recipe for raspberry podge (porridge)

Raspberry Porrdige
serves 2

1 cup of oats
2 cups of milk
1 cup of frozen raspberries
2 table spoons of honey
optional: vanilla sugar

Combine in a saucepan over a low heat and stir till it thickens and is creamy.

Spoon porridge into bowls then top generously with frozen raspberries and honey.

Stir the raspberries through, because they're frozen they'll cool the porridge down to the perfect temperature.

Add a smidgen of vanilla sugar if you like.

Note: If you prefer a lower fat version switch the milk to water or half milk, half water.
