just go with it



Have you ever tried to tweak a recipe to just see it not quite work out?
Yah.
Me too!
Sunday night I tackled the timeless pineapple upside down cake. Instead of the sugar butter mixture on the bottom of the tin though I went with condensed milk.
When the cake was cooked it came out not quite caramel and looked a bit goopy. There were a bunch of people waiting for their dessert at the dinner table. Pressures on. What to do? I stuck it under the grill. It came out looking gorgeous and apparently (I didn't eat it because I broke up with sugar) but it was delicious! The crust that formed around the edge of the cake got high praise! Next time I might brown sugar, butter, condensed milk combo.
